Being a good listener, being reactive to clients' needs and having sound technical knowledge are the keys to being a successful broker, says Paul Aghion.
He has been an insurance broker for almost 30 years, including extensive experience in the Lloyd's market.
Paul assisted his father in the then well-known Sydney brokerage Victor Aghion & Sons while still a university student and, when he returned from London after several years there, became managing director of the family business at the age of only 24. In 1987, the business was sold and Paul continued to work there as an executive director, until its 1992 sale to another firm of brokers.
Paul was an authorised representative for that company, heading its professional indemnity and D&O division, until he joined JMD Ross in 1997. Paul has studied law and economics at Sydney University, holds a Diploma of Insurance, Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking) and is a QPIB.
He enjoys the variety and challenges the insurance industry offers and his goal is to always provide exemplary service and advice to clients. He has an excellent understanding of contracts and the ability to adapt available products to suit clients' precise needs.
Paul is the father of Josh and Maddie.
