Anton Gelbart has gained industry experience on three continents.
Born in South Africa in 1974, Anton began his broking career in Cape Town in 1996. He spent two years learning the business there before the attraction of a working holiday drew him to London.
Anton was sponsored by a major London broker. He worked in its corporate global business division for five years and travelled extensively around Europe.
He met his wife, Jodi, in London and the pair decided to opt for a warmer climate, moving to Australia in 2003.
After working for another major Australian brokerage for more than a year, Anton joined JMD Ross Insurance Brokers in 2004 as a general insurance broker, specialising in jewellers' block insurance. Anton's portfolio is diverse, including householders, small commercial businesses and corporates.
Knowing the specific issues his clients face is a source of pride for Anton. "Good brokers understand their clients' business. That way they can help guide them, personally and professionally, in making the right decisions to protect their interests."
An avid sports fan, Anton plays golf and enjoys the outdoors. He has a passion for world news events.
Anton holds a Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking).
