Claims Procedures

It is important that claims are settled quickly and fairly. To assist in ensuring this occurs, the below procedures should be followed.

1. Advise JMD Ross Insurance Brokers immediately after an event or incident which may give rise to a claim under one of your Insurance Policies.

2. In certain instances, Insurers will require a completed claim from which our office will supply upon claim notification. Please contact us so that we may provide the most appropriate claim form for your circumstances.  Ensure that all questions are answered and include any supporting documentation if available.  Email the claim form to your Account Manager or to our generic email address jmdross@jmdross.com.au.

Any Summons, Writ or other legal demands must immediately be forwarded to JMD Ross Insurance Brokers and we will advise you of the claims process.

Do not engage your own legal counsel or admit liability either verbally or in writing, this can prejudice Insurers rights under the policy.

3. If the claim is urgent and involves substantial damage or injury, it can be reported by telephone to your Account Manager, JMD Ross Claims Manager or to the after-hours number 0418 976 722

4. Notify the police if a crime has been committed.

5. Apart from assisting the police, be careful making statements to persons who may not be acting for your Insurer.

For large claims, the claim will be managed by your Account Director.
