With Christmas fast approaching and the festive season already upon us, it is a great opportunity to share the incredible success JMD Ross Insurance Brokers has achieved as part of its corporate social responsibility program.
In support of its chosen charity, the Exodus Foundation, JMD Ross hosted its 2nd annual fund-raising event along with 70 invited guests. Last year saw CEO John Duncan have his legs waxed and the day raised more than $5,000. A phenomenal effort but clearly a benchmark to be bettered.
This year JMD Ross raised more than $11,000. Directors John Duncan and John Davaine had their heads shaved after having their locks brightly coloured for the event. Platinum blond and pink respectively.
That added to the occasion’s celebratory mood and beer and wine flowed libatiously. Planning is afoot for next year’s event.
In more sombre settings, the JMD Ross team volunteered at the Exodus Foundation’s Loaves & Fishes facility at Ashfield. During the day, the team prepared and served about 350 lunches to people in need of a square meal.
Mopping floors and scrubbing pots was part of the role during an exhausting but thoroughly rewarding experience. It made the JMD Ross team appreciate how well we have it and how others in our community genuinely struggle.
Led by the Rev Bill Crews AM, the work performed by volunteers every day is staggering and a timely reminder of everything for which we are thankful.
Wishing you and your families a great and safe festive season.
